Opportunities for Students
Internship Funding Program
As part of the Section’s commitment to fostering careers in administrative law, APLS provides an Internship Funding Program to support internships with state agencies and other public service entities.
- Three internships with specific, designated agencies (including the Fifteenth Court of Appeals, SOAH, and the OAG), and two awards will be to fund an otherwise unpaid internship independently obtained by the applicant at a qualifying governmental entity.

2026 Summer Internships
This year, APLS implemented our new Internship Funding Program to encourage careers in administrative and public law by supporting internships with state agencies and other public service entities. The two-faceted program includes designated internships (with stipend) in Administrative Law and “Create Your Own Experience” stipends awarded to applicants who have obtained an unpaid internship in administrative or public law in Texas. This summer’s recipients include:
2026 Designated Summer Internships in Administrative Law
- South Texas College of Law
- U.S. Army National Guard Veteran
- Fifteenth Court of Appeals

- Office of the Attorney General, Administrative Law Division
2026 “Create Your Own Experience” Stipend for Internships in Administrative and Public Law
- Thurgood Marshall School of Law
- U.S. Air Force Veteran
- Office of the Attorney General, Houston Office
- Texas A & M School of Law
- Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Dallas Office
2027 Summer Internship in Administrative Law
This internship was created to provide opportunities for Texas law students interested in administrative law. It is awarded in the Spring of each year and served during Summer of the same year:
- Texas Fifteenth Court of Appeals
- Office of the Attorney General’s Administrative Law Division
- State Office of Administrative Hearings.
The internship includes a $5,500 stipend for a six-week term.

- Eligibility: Any student enrolled in a law school in Texas at the time of application

2027 Summer Stipend: Find Your Own Experience
This internship was created to provide opportunities for Texas law students interested in administrative law. It is awarded in the Spring of each year and served during Summer of the same year:
- $5,500 Stipend
- Must have applied for a non-paid internship at the time of application
- State agency, local governmental entity or a public sector entity within the State of Texas
- Minimum five weeks in duration and 20 hours of work per week (or the equivalent)

*Submission of application also constitutes application for free student membership in APLS
